Kalideres Terminal Free of Cigarettes in 2015

As much as 600 stickers were spread and attached on the public transport such as Mikrolet, KWK, Metromini, and Kopaja by Terminal Management Unit (UPT) Kalideres to support the city regulation about terminal smoking free. The city targets to free terminal from cigarette starting next year.

The regulation is effectively applied in the upcoming year, including public transportation and terminal

"Since three weeks ago, we held the attachment of smoking ban. This is one of socialization efforts," said Fredy Manalu, City Terminal Kalideres Head, Wednesday (12/3).

Manalu explained, the ban is managed in City Regulation No. 2/2005 about Air Pollution Management, Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 75/2005, and Pergub No. 88/2010 about No Smoking Area.

"The regulation is effectively applied in the upcoming year, including public transportation and terminal," explained Manalu.

Manalu added the cigarette sellers must be curbed to ease the regulation implementation. In fact, his side is optimistic that the regulation can be applied smoothly.

Siti Maryam (19), one of passengers in the terminal, appreciates the city administration's step.

"I fully support this policy since the cigarettes have no good effect for us," she said.
